First Portrait Drawing

This is a portrait style drawing I did of Marilyn Monroe using all pencil. I enjoyed drawing it and I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out. Pencil is one of my favorite mediums but faces are always difficult subjects. The angle of her face was kind of hard since her head is tilted back. I plan to get more practice with portraits and shadowing faces.

Second Portrait Drawing

My icon...

Cherry blossoms done with marker

My skateboard design...

This was a fun and unique project to do, I did a marker and colored pencil drawing of a skull in the shape of a skateboard. I don't know much about skateboards but it's kind of inspired by Mexican folkart syle. I would have liked to make the color of the inside of the school brighter and color the white background with a design or at least a color.

My second portrait drawing was of Elvis Presley. I'm glad that it turned out looking like him somewhat and I like the overall finished product. I see some room for my improvement in shadowing and accurately portraying facial features but it was a good starting point. If I could do it differently, I would tone down the amount of darkness to make it more subtle and make the face more accurate.
